A solid soap bar comes with less packaging and is often packed in recyclable material, unlike liquid soap dispensers. You won’t need to replace it as often whereas a liquid soap requires more refills.

Think before you buy toilet roll

Toilet roll is something your bathroom needs, but is it as eco-friendly as it can be? Buying your standard pack of four toilet rolls from the supermarket isn’t the best option if you want to consider the environment. Firstly, the packaging is mostly non-recyclable, and the materials the toilet roll is made out of are also not the most eco-friendly. Instead, you can buy bamboo toilet rolls or even buy toilet rolls packaged with more sustainable and recyclable material. Another thing to consider would be to buy in bulk. This way you are not buying as much.

Make the change with your toothbrush

Toothbrushes are one of those other essentials your bathroom will have, and many of them are made out of cheap plastic that isn’t recyclable. So it may be time to make the change. You could invest in an electric toothbrush which means that you are using the same model and only replacing the toothbrush heads. These are often recyclable. Or you can make the change to bamboo toothbrushes which are recyclable once you are finished with them.

Solid shampoo and conditioner bars

Shampoo and conditioner are often distributed in plastic packaging but in most cases, it isn’t recyclable. It is also a liquid soap so you tend to have to replace it more often. Using a solid shampoo and conditioner bar means that you can be more eco-friendly with your choices. It also comes in recyclable packaging.

Reusable face cloths

Finally, reusable face cloths are much more eco-friendly than using face wipes. Face wipes have elements of plastic within them and are not recyclable. They end up at landfill or can clog up pipework if not disposed of correctly. Reusable face cloths are more economical.
