You don't need a specific time of year to add things or take things away from your garden, but upgrading your garden can happen anytime. If you've looked outside and you spent some time in your garden this July, then you might consider how you're going to spend the next few months going in and out of there to make it look fantastic and feel good.

Your garden is your own private Oasis, it's your personal space, it's where you have your swimming pool if you like a luxury garden, or it's where you have your summer house if you want somewhere to unwind and relax. The fortunate thing is that getting your backyard looking its best doesn't require you to have tons of money or months of hard work, in fact, it only requires you to have an imagination. Let's take a look at how you can put your imagination to work.

1. Give it a tidy up. We're not just talking about putting the kids' toys away in the garden, we're talking about trimming all of the weeds and removing any overgrown plants. You'd be surprised at just how much better your gardens are going to look with a little bit of tidying up. Those little tweaks can instantly give it a transformation that you didn't expect, so start with that before you start thinking about whales you can install or move.

2. Give it a lick of paint. You won't be painting the grass or the flowers. This is not Alice in Wonderland and you're not painting the roses red. However, you might want to paint the fences. The climate does a wonderful job at making fences look pale and worn down, so if you sand down your fences, give them a varnish and then a lick of paint and another lick of varnish. You're going to have an amazing looking garden. 

3. Upgrade your outer buildings. Do you have a bike shed or a tool shed or even a greenhouse? Maybe get those swapped out for something that's bigger, better or more hardwearing. Upgrading your outbuildings is going to make your garza look fantastic in an instant because you can use a space to hide your tools. Summer houses make for great outdoor offices too, so if you want to add a little something to your garden then buying a summer house and having it installed is a great way to spend your time.

4. Add some new plants. Adding a few new plants to your garden is a great way to make the space look more revitalized. The best part is you don't have to put it into any of the existing flower beds. You can literally buy new planters or new plant pots. Consider the conditions of your garden before you go ahead and buy it, because the right plant in the right position is really going to thrive.
